What’s happened to me this summer so far…
Additional Research Job
I have another research job. Apparently I have a good reputation in the Econ department, because I got recommended to work with another professor. He’s interested in coming up with a database on political decentralization, so I’ll be working on that, going through websites like the World Bank and such. I won’t be babysitting anymore. The mother won’t be taking the bar after all this summer, but I found this out at the same time as I heard about this other job, so I feel blessed that it all worked out.
Breakup
I broke up with my girlfriend. She had been depressed and having doubts about our relationship for a while (right after my previous upbeat lj entry, ironically) so I wasn’t too surprised or upset. I was down for a few days, but I’ve perked up and feel better now. Just getting adjusted to the single life once again, but I’m cool with that. Things have also been going well with this new Latina, so things are still well in the social sphere.
Single Room
My roommate just moved out since he was just here for the first summer session.
Cousins wedding in St. Louis
I went to a cousins wedding in St. Louis that was pretty cool. The flight wasn’t really that bad. My mom thought our first flight was cancelled when she tried to book our seats, but she just got some idiot at costumer service since it really wasn’t. But I didn’t complain since I got to sleep in. But the actual wedding and related activities were nice. My last day there I got to go to a lake and use a jet ski for the first time; that was cool.
So overall I’m quite content with how my life is going right now :)
