Feeding each other cake. Thinking about this wedding tradition - kind of sweet and illustrates the meaning of marriage. This is what some birds do in courtship - the male shows the female that he will be a good mate by feeding her. I never could understand the guy or girl who shoves cake in their new spouse's face - I guess to show them what a poor mate they are planning to be.
Dave and I went to justapostcard Nancy and her husband Wayne's 50th anniversary party this afternoon. After eating we went out onto the deck and listening to their son Ben and his mates play music. I am paying a lot more attention now when people play music to decipher what they are doing. Had a good time - talked to a lot of nice people.
But - we had a terrible mess waiting for us when we got home. The pipes under the kitchen sink were leaking and there was a waterfall in the basement. The same place as the last leak but this time it was pouring out instead of slowly dripping. The water had spread out a lot farther this time and affected a lot more stuff. Dave right away turned off all the water for the house and I used bath towels to mop it up. Threw out a lot more ruined things. Now we have no water till Dave gets it fixed - hopefully tomorrow. Blaa.
