good news
Or better news anyway. Dave was able to turn on the cold water for the house this morning. No hot water for showers but at least we can wash some clothes (the towels I used to mop things up last night) and flush the toilet, have water for drinking and cooking, washing up a little. So yay. The leak is under the dishwater. I have my work cut out for me today clearing things out of the basement below the sink and dishwasher. I usually have a big problem getting rid of old stuff (I am too sentimental) but now that it is soaked with water and ruined it is much easier! When we moved into this house I claimed the area under the kitchen as part of my studio space. Not a good idea I see now. Many art supplies are now ruined. It didn't reach as far as the bookshelves though so good. Anyway I am going to see this as a good thing - it can be the impetus for me to get my stuff in order.
