Today was "eye" day. I went to Walmart Eye Center and had my eyes checked for new glasses in the morning. I picked out some glasses. They basically look like my old glasses but they have a rim at the top (my old ones were totally rimless). I tried on lots of glasses thinking I might be able to change my style to something more decorative, colorful, plastic, modern or stylish but I just couldn't. Everything looked too harsh, distracting and big on my face so I'm just going to continue with my old look. Then we drove up to Meadville and Dave got his eye poke. I stayed in the car for the first hour cause it is always so crowded in the waiting room. I took a nap in the car, played around with the ukulele and my phone. When I went in I found Dave talking to two ladies who were laughing. He is a super friendly guy and always talks to the people in the waiting room. I think it is a good thing - it's good to be distracted from getting a needle in your eye. When he went into one of the treatment rooms and I was alone with one of the ladies we started talking about him. I told her that for us it must be like opposites attract cause I am the quiet one and if I was in there by myself waiting I probably wouldn't talk to anyone. I was only talking to her cause Dave got us started before he left. She said he had already told them that about me (maybe to explain why I was in the car rather than in the waiting room with him?). We got to talking about the ukulele and she said her mother who was 75 years old had just ordered a steel slide guitar and she wanted to learn to play it. She had never played anything in her life before this but she wanted to play an instrument before it was too late. I wish her luck! I'm having a hard enough time learning to play a song on the uke, though I can play some chords.
I just made a cup of tea in the microwave and when I went to take it out the handle was incredibly hot. I couldn't let go of it (drop it) cause I didn't want to spill boiling water all over the place so I ended up burning my index finger before I carefully set it down. I hate that when you discover you have a flawed cup that can't take the microwave. All the other ones in the set are okay. I don't understand how there is one cup that is not microwave safe in a set. Stupid.
