I finished the locket a few days ago - I call it "Look Up". This was the most difficult thing I have attempted in years. As I always say - "I'm not a jeweler - I'm an artist who makes jewelry" so I really haven't learned that many metal working skills. I have been more about making the elements and enamels and designing interesting ways to use them that don't require elaborate skills to present. But I love boxes and lockets. I made one years ago when I first started the metal fabrication work but it seemed very difficult to get the hinges perfect so I haven't wanted to try another. I think I won't mind doing another now - I'm getting better and am more patient now.
And another break through - I figured out the white balance setting to use with my special lights I use to photograph the jewelry. The auto white balance settings it was using made everything look too blue. I found out how to make my own white balance settings. (and yes - my dream wasn't true - the camera works fine - I just took these pictures and nothing was loose in there...!)

On Friday I took this picture of Deb's creation of pieces of found wood and string (I fooled around with it in adobe to bring out the texture more). This isn't the whole thing - it had another stick that hung below it too. It looked very cool on her wall and I was mesmerized by it. I think it is named "beating heart" ( - please correct me if I got that wrong, Deb).

And finally another picture I took yesterday morning of the sun coming in the front window and reflecting off the table onto the wall - I just liked how it looked:
(I'm doing all this posting from my mother's house where I can get internet better - oh well... have to go with the flow...)
