Having a wonderful day.
Our destination - the foot bridge that crosses Oil Creek.
Oil Creek.
The view of the bridge from the picnic table on the other side of the creek.
Jan and I hiked 5 miles at Oil Creek park this morning. 2.5 miles in dry weather and 2.5 miles in the rain. The rain was a perfect way to make it memorable. I had a rain hat so my glasses stayed dry and to me that is the most important thing to have dry. After our walk we were going to eat at the Perkins in Titusville. Jan suggested we stop somewhere and buy some cheap dry shirts first so we stopped at the Dollar Store and I found a lovely black top with colorful flowers on it - just my style. I felt so blessed - a new shirt, a hike, and my favorite salmon meal at Perkins all in one day. I got home and was looking at the flower garden out front. The sedums I got recently are doing great but all the hen and chicks look awful. The chickens love to eat hen and chicks it seems. I asked Johnny if he would drive me up to Wyattville Gardens to get some more sedums. I found 3 that I didn't have yet and after we brought them home he drove me to True Value to get some more pots and potting soil. More feelings of gratitude abounding - having a son driving me around and lifting heavy potting soil bags for me. Happy birthday to me! 65 today.
Flower garden progress shot. I still need to pot the new sedums in their new pots.
