There definitely is a mind-body connection.

You know, Gyro suffered from a lot of the same symptoms as you with his anxiety but he has depression as well. He used to get a feeling of doom. At night sometimes. And then I thought it might have been brought on by tiredness. He also suffered from feeling tired. And he had trouble falling asleep and had non-refreshing sleep - not deep enough, I think, because he had confusing dreams. He also suffered from not being able to think.

As well as that he had a branch bundle blockage after his illness. And his heart would sometimes do a double beat, that is, twice as fast as normal. The doctor did not think he should exercise (that is, go on walks with his camera) when he felt breathless. So, please don't go for walks when feeling like that, although exercise in the form of walks otherwise is good for you.

I think the notebook is good so the doctors can know what is going on with your heart. But I can quite see how it would focus your attention on your aches and pains too much!

I was wondering when you would put your tent up. I think that would be such a relaxing thing to do - be out in nature with all the little birds twittering in the trees around you and the sound of the wind in the leaves and the beautiful scent of fresh air...

While reading a website about anxiety disorders it was pretty plain to me that I suffer from them. And some depression too. I get the feeling of doom a lot. I am not interested in taking meds for the this though - I think I just need to concentrate on relaxing and doing natural relaxation techniques more. It will be interesting to see what the heart monitor shows after a month. It might have nothing to do with my heart and all these symptoms might have to do with anxiety - that's what I'm hoping anyway.

Gyro didn't get any treatment for any of his conditions but managed them himself.

Old Flame suffers from anxiety and has done a lot of work on himself and informed himself a lot so that he can reach maximum health and do as much as he can. Unfortunately his was way too bad for him not to take meds. He wouldn't have been able to live any sort of life at all. You aren't anywhere near as bad as he is, so you should be able to manage it without meds. In fact, they are now recommending CBT* and stuff.

*Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Old Flame doesn't have much depression, though. Apparently he can get reactive depression from time to time. He does a lot of things to keep himself happy. In fact, he is always smiling (even when not smiling), jokes around with people a lot, only watches happy movies (when not watching 'who-done-it's and suchlike) and when he lies awake at night he repeats a mantra, love, peace and harmony, until he falls asleep again. He has also done a lot of yoga and meditation in his life. And tries not to stress himself out too much.

I hope it's not so much you heart but anxiety, for your sake.

Oh, Old flame does get panic attacks, too. I think he just rests until they're over. He recognises them for what they are and just lets them pass.
