New Year's Eve is almost upon us. I think most people would say this year pretty much sucked, and they'd be right. Oh, it had it's ups, but it certainly had it's downs as well. I'll personally be glad to have it behind me. Fortunately, we'll be ringing in the new year with good friends, good food, and copious amounts of alcohol. And Guitar Hero, of course. NYE isn't NYE without embarrassingly bad fake guitar work. On NYD we hope to ski, if the weather cooperates. I see no reason to freeze my ass off any more than necessary just to slide down a mountain with two waxed boards strapped to my feet.
The older I get, the less I really care about this holiday, other than seeing friends and taking a couple of extra days off of work. It used to be kind of important to see the ball drop, and toast everyone right as the clock stuck midnight, eagerly searching out a random someone in the room to kiss. Now I'm lucky if I'm awake until midnight, although I always have that someone to kiss (assuming she's awake). Growing old has it's perks.
Many changes are on the horizon potential for 2010. Some I don't look forward to, others I'm not sure how I feel about. No sense worrying about those until they hit, I suppose. Just live in the moment.
Have a good and safe weekend everyone. Try to avoid the plethora of idiots that are almost certainly going to be out in force this weekend. This idiot will be safely pounding on a fake fret board with over exuberant enthusiasm, trying desperately to pretend he isn't the rhythymless white boy he knows he is.
holidays,
