thanks for the reply's the other day :) its great to have friends - even if i never see you guys...
it's funny how much we let stress affect our personal lives. for me, patience goes right out the window and anything and EVERYTHING will bug me. I'll make a big deal out of shit i don't even care about...just because i'm so preoccupied with what's really bothering me - the stress. It seems like this is inevitable the first few weeks of school. Everything has calmed down and things couldn't be better.
Another positive thing is that since school has started - we are automatically spending more time apart since i'm at school all day and he is at work. I think the key is having separate interests we can dive into when we are stressed out or upset so that we don't take it out on each other.
on OTHER notes...
I'm getting involved in some really interesting projects this semester.
1. im working for an instructor at school on an exhibit he is building in LA and New York. It is basically building a cruving wall made up of thin pieces of plastic on a metal frame. Each piece of plastic has a wire down the middle that makes the plastic curl back when electricity is put through it. So basically as you walk by and under the wall - the pieces move and open and close all cool. The best part is that I get to fly out to new york in may to finish fabrication before the gallery opens. It's going into a space called the storefront gallery - a pretty prestigious space. It should end up published and hopefully i get some credit on it :) I at least get school credit - which is good because its an unpaid internship.
2. I'm going to start working with another instructor who is diagramming homegrown marijuana in LA. We are using a balloon and themal cameras to fly over parts of LA and read whether or not houses are groing weed illegally. It is an "un-biased" scientific study...but it sounds like its going to get really interesting. Also - we are going to build a 3d weed plant in maya. lol.
Thats about it for now. We are having a party on saturday and you should come. (I guess that goes out to ann since shes the only local anymore...)
