Yesterday was much better. I think I've finally figured out my meds. Unfortunately, the dose I have to take for maximum effectiveness means that I probably shouldn't drive after I take them. When I showed up for work on Saturday, Ma told me that my grandmother was in the hospital. I went and sat with her in the ER. Turns out she had a very bad UTI that had gone septic. Yesterday at the clinic was the typical thing: I was afraid of being late, so I left early. Got there 35 minutes before my scheduled appointment time, didn't end up being ushered into one of the back rooms until 45 minutes after my appointment time, didn't see the doc for more than 30 minutes after that. Called my insurance company this morning to see if there was an Urgent Care I could go to instead of waiting until tomorrow, (fortunately we're not supposed to have the kids tonight, but it would still be nice to get it resolved ASAP), and they said at first that they didn't have one listed. Still feeling very introspective. My sister spent the night last night, as she had a film to watch for one class and had to be back at school at 6:00 a.m. and didn't want to drive 2 hours north just to sleep for four hours and get up and drive back. Still have that pain in my side. Doctor can't see me today. Am taking lots of Advil, holding still whenever possible. Happily, it doesn't take as much Advil to be comfortable enough to read in bed as it does to actually sleep.

I saw my chiro yesterday, and had the most painful adjustment I've ever had. She said that my rib was completely dislocated - the crunching sound that I heard was most likely the cartilage giving way. It was out in the front where it meets the breastbone and in the back where it meets the spine, so she had to do two separate adjustments to get it ( Read more... )
