OOOoooOoooo, shiny!
I just received our mutual Christmas present from Jimmy's stepmom and dad, which is really mostly for me. I knew that it was coming, I knew that I was not supposed to wait for Christmas but to open it as soon as it got here, and I even knew roughly what it was going to be: cooking stuff. What I didn't know was that it was going to be a 14-piece stainless steel cookware set, comprised of an 8" skillet, a 10" skillet, a 12" skillet with oven-safe lid, 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4-quart sauce pans, all with lids, and an 8-quart stock pot! Oh, glory be!
Now I know that women are supposed to hate useful gifts, but I LOVE USEFUL GIFTS. I have had the same little Farberware non-stick cookware set since I got my first apartment, and you can imagine how well the non-stick is holding up after 8 years of hard, daily use. And you probably also know how much a good set of cookware tends to run. This is everything I wanted to replace my old set, plus more. A godsend, and a delight. Now I have a nice new set of sharp knives, and a lovely new set of cookware. Cooking in my house has moved out of the Stone Age and into the new millenium, YES!
