Tea and toast with honey for breakfast. Selah's already had waffles, but she's in here looking for a hand out. *sigh*
Speaking of my mom, (which I wasn't, but let's pretend), and her customarily heroic efforts - last night she finished a passable Hogwarts robe, a set of cat ears and a set of puppy ears, and a geisha robe with obi. She left at 10 p.m., (so she did that all in about 5 hours), because she had to be at work this morning at 5 a.m.
You know what else she brought with her? And left with me, when she left?
Two ripe pineapples (one that needs to be eaten "right away")
One bag of Soy & Flaxseed tortilla chips from Trader Joe's
Four boxes of cereal
Three bottles of wine
Four bags of mini-candy bars for tonight's Trick or Treaters
Four avocados
6 apples
2 jars of crunchy peanut butter
2 large jars of vitamins, one calcium and one vitamin C, with instructions to take a dose of each every hour until feeling well again, (and I know this is $30 right here)
1 can of hominy (Ma: "Do you think the kids might eat this?" Me: "I don't know, but I will!")
1 jar of imported Hungarian honey, best honey I've ever tasted, with directions to take one spoonful every day for my throat - that's the honey that's in my tea and on my toast, because once I tasted it, I couldn't resist.
That's my mom, folks. I get it all from her.
