Well yesterday was Viceroy (more later) and it did mean I got the opportunity to finish the garter and spurs work I was working on and hand it over to Duchness Nerissa for her to sew it on to Duke Alaric's gambeson.  I am very pleased with this piece of work it - it is one the best bits of work that I've ever done.

a very pleasant Saturday spent at the Medat meeting - lots of very interesting talks and presentations.  Ines a local shire member did a very interesting talk on the Musuem of London collections - I will admit to a certain smugness as we had seen some of the pieces during our visit earlier in the year.

After a busy and productive weekend I've now basically finished my outstanding projects, I've got a couple of small hankies to do but they won't take too long to do (probably about 1 evening).

So the question is boys and girls what to do next?

I am keen to do more embrodiery, something useful, but not garb.

So answers on a postcard please!

Well the upcoming coronation has focused the mind this weekend.  As well as the hankies and pieces I am doing for her highnes I realised that my wool dress that I started work on back in the winter hadn't been completed.  To be frank I had got very p'ed off with the dratted thing....mostly thinking "why oh why did I think that hand sewing a t-tunic ( Read more... )

A great fun week this week.  I had a lovely birthday with lots of lovely cards and pressies.  Hatfield house craft fair last Saturday was fun too, Nick & I spent a fortune - with some lovely tankards from these guys - Hidebound   and I also managed to buy an Inkle loom - so I can return with thanks the one I have from

very pleased with myself as I have just finished by first hand sewn piece of garb.  It is a wool tunic for my lovely man, with a inkle brand around the neck.

I really like the wonkiness of the sitiching it has real character!

Well I have been try on and off for the last few weeks to make a cotehardie and I am about ready to throw the dratted thing out the window!  Grrr for sleeves....grr for gores and grrr for sewing....in fact grrr to it all!

Right now I've got that off my chest I will try again!
