School looked like it might end up being boring, but if anything perked Yuushi's spirits up, it was visiting with certain members of his extended family. Marui Bunta, for one. Knocking on his cousin's door as he leaned in the doorway, he smiled a bit, holding up a small wrapped box of chocolates. "Look what I found in my luggage..."
Marui blinked at him at the sight of the chocolates. "You do love me." He said moving closer. He wrapped his arms around his neck hugging him close. "Thank you Yuushi."
"You're very welcome. You're still getting the cakes tomorrow, but I do still enjoy teasing you a bit." The taller vampire returned the hug, playfully pulling the redhead off his feet for a brief moment before releasing him. "How have you been? Still dragging Gen-chan around?"
"So mean." He muttered with a little pout." Marui stuck out his tongue after a moment keeping his arms around him for a moment longer before reaching for the chocolates. "I've been good. This school is really good there's a vampire who likes to bake sweets and snuggles so I’ve gotten food form him and he's really nice. But what makes this place the best...Genchirou is doing good here and that makes me happy."
"Is he?" That was interesting to hear. Yuushi had nothing against Sanada. Liked him, in fact. He was just too much fun to tease, was all. "Has he graduated from grunting?" He chuckled.
Marui thought for a long moment. "Maybe~." He muttered. "I won't share with you though."
"Share?" The dark haired vampire didn't need his telepathic powers to know what Bunta was referring to. "Whatever makes you think I want to share? Genchirou is admirable, but not my type." He grinned slowly. "That also sounded very possessive...have you claimed him already?"
He blushed. "I didn't mean it that way!" He cried out. He flushed and looked away. He wanted to keep his cousin as his but that wasn't for Yuushi to know. "I mean i won't share if he does say more then grunts..."
Bunta was all the more adorable when he blushed so guiltily like that. "Are you sure about that?"
He flushed and nodded again walking away with his cake. "Of course I’m sure about that." He muttered. "It's not like it's any of your business..." He started to munch on the chocolates.
"Well, you're right about that," Yuushi agreed, taking a seat on Bunta's bed. "I do have a vested interest in seeing you happy, however."
"I’m happy already." Bunta turned to look at him with a smile. "You know when I’m unhappy.” Marui wasn't lying he was happy, happy to be able to be close to Sanada. Happy to be able to go to school away from home, happy to be around others. The cakes made it even better.
"Well, so long as Gen-chan is taking good care of you."
He nodded after a long moment. "He does take care of me...he's...just making new friends." Marui said not liking being jealous when it was a good thing.
Yuushi looked up at the pause, arching an eyebrow in curiosity. "Isn't that a good thing?"
"It's a very good thing! It means Gen's doing great here." Marui told him.
"It takes some of his attention away, though, doesn’t it?"
He blushed and shook his head. "It doesn't." He lied.
"Not at all? I find that hard to believe. Unless you're always by his side when he's with his new friends. But even then, his attention wouldn't only be on you."
"Of course I’m not around him when he's with his friends. Then I’d feel like his mom or something." He muttered. Marui sighed softly. Of course it took his attention away from him, but that was something that he had no right to be jealous over.
Yuushi stood up to go to him, patting his shoulder. "I understand..." he said, then murmured. "You're not fooling me, though..."
He stuck out his tongue. "I don't know what you're talking about Yuushi." He tilted his head up looking at him. "Everything...it's good the way it is..."
"Of course you don't," the telepath merely smiled at him fondly. "So long as you're happy."
He pouted a bit ducking his head. "I am."
Yuushi stroked his bright hair. "Then everything is fine, yes?"
"You're mean." He muttered after a moment ducking his head to look at the chocolates. "Of course everything isn't fine...you know that...." His cousin was being mean, keeping probing until he pouted more.
"Yes, I am," Yuushi nodded. "I knew you were lying just looking at you. Is he neglecting you in some way?"
"No...not really." He sighed softly. "He's in a different class from me so I don’t' get to see him enough...and I keep away so he can be with his new friends...but...I feel lonely when he's not near me." Marui sulked. "Then I feel guilty for being upset...because I snuggle with Jirou and Gen doesn't complain, I know it probably bothers him....but he doesn't complain so how could I?"
"It sounds as if you're not entirely sure about how he feels about you," Yuushi said after thinking it over for a moment. "If you were confident about it, you would feel more secure, even if he's apart from you, wouldn't you?"
"Maybe I’m not....but it's not really important is it? I doubt Gen will ever try to claim me..."
"There are ways to test that," Yuushi smiled.
"That's wrong." He muttered.
"As wrong as it is to just go on not knowing?"
"It's not wrong to go on not knowing. I'm sure He’s told me i just....don't know." He shook his head. "But Yuushi you can't just test Gen like that..."
"I wasn't thinking of using my power on him," Yuushi assured him.
"Then what were you going to do?"
"Nothing harmful. At least, nothing harmful for him." Because Yuushi was sure Sanada would be only too happy to hurt him.
Marui titled his head to the side. "It doesn't sound good though...what if you upset him. You shouldn't do that..." Marui didn't want Gen to be upset at all.
"Well, then, you're going to have to ask him directly, aren't you?" Yuushi concluded. "That's the only other way you're going to find out."
"What if he thinks something wrong then if i ask him directly?"
"Something is wrong if you're unhappy, Bunta. Communication is always key to solving these sorts of things."
He sighed softly and tilted his head back. "I'll...just ask him....another time..."
"If that's what you want." Yuushi led him back to the bed, sitting down with him and rubbing his back gently.
"It's best when he's doing so good i don't want to cause trouble with asking him so i'll just ask later." Marui said pushing those thoughts aside. He leaned into the rubbing letting his eyes close for a moment.
The thoughts weren't gone though. Yuushi could hear them in the back of Bunta's mind. Now that he was listening, there were a lot of thoughts, and the ones not about sweets were about Sanada in some way.
Well. He wasn't about to hear thoughts like that for an entire school term. But he kept his mouth shut, stretching out his power to listen outside of the room as he continued to rub Bunta's back and massage his shoulders.
Marui sighed softly his head falling forward eyes closing a bit more. He groaned loudly just enjoying the massage.
It was excellent timing. Yuushi could feel the distinct monosyllabic hum of Sanada's thoughts coming their way. He only had to choose the right moment, leaning down to nuzzle at Bunta's neck as he worked a knot enough to make the redhead moan again.
Sanada didn't bother with knocking on his cousin's door anymore. He was too close to the red head to care about interrupting him and it wasn't like he hadn't seen him naked before, but when he opened the door he rather wished he hadn't, "......Yuushi..." He greeted with a very unwelcoming tone, "I'm sorry to interrupt..." He snapped and turned on his heel to leave.
Marui let out another soft little moan and lifted his head at the sound of Sanada's voice. "Genchirou..." He groaned his name looking wide eyed. "You don't have to go..."
Ever the dispassionate one...ah well. If he'd been right about it, his face would have paid the price. Still. "Come join us, Gen-chan," he called out. "There's plenty of Bunta for the both of us..."
Sanada paused at Bunta's voice, but Yuushi's smooth drawl made him want to punch him. That seemed to be his natural reaction to that stupid accent though, "...Don't call me Gen-chan..." He grumbled and walked in before closing the door. He couldn't leave his favorite cousin alone with the blue haired mind reading demon.
Marui blushed and looked over at Yuushi. "Don't say it like that..." He turned to look back to Sanada smiling a little at him. "You came to see me."
"So he did," Yuushi said, making sure to drawl extra just for that thought. Just to egg Sanada on more. "Did you come to congratulate me, Gen-chan?"
"Congratulate you for what?" He snapped and walked over to pull Marui away from Yuushi crankily.
Marui blushed looking up at Sanada and over to Yuushi. "Did you win something Yuushi?" He didn't know what Yuushi needed to be congratulated for either. He leaned into Sanada though watching his other cousin.
The telepath chuckled, taking a moment to take off his glasses and clean them on his shirt before perching them back on his nose. "I certainly hope so, Bunta. I've come to claim you as mine. I think that calls for congratulations, don't you think, Gen-chan?"
Sanada's features contorted into a dark frown and he glared down at Yuushi, "You've what?" While Sanada knew someone would come to claim Marui one day he didn't accept the blunette claiming his favorite cousin.
Marui gasped and looked at his cousin in shock. "You...what?" He demanded. "You...you can't...y..." Marui was flustered cheeks pink trying to get the words out.
"And why not?" Yuushi smiled, ignoring Sanada. Oh he heard those dark little thoughts, though. No wonder Sanada hadn't claimed Bunta yet, if he was fool enough to think someone better would come along for him. That was reason enough for him to poke at him more. "I love you, Bunta," he said, standing to take the redhead's hand, pressing it against his chest. "Why else would I come to this place but to take you back with me?"
Unconciously, Sanada pulled Marui closer to himself, dark eyes glaring down at Oshitari.
Marui let himself be pulled closer to Sanada looking confused he tugged at his hand. "You're..." He shook his head. What was Yuushi doing what was going through the telepaths mind to make up something like this?
"Here for you," Yuushi finished, pulling Bunta away completely and wrapping an arm around his waist. "You'll come back with me, stay with me. We'll exchange blood to make it official," he murmured, tipping Bunta's face up towards it, slowly drawing him in, their lips getting close to touching.
Sanada growled and looked down, not wanting to see what Yuushi was doing. If Bunta agreed, he had no right to argue, but he couldn't watch this. He didn't want to watch the loss of his favorite cousin to the annoying blue-haired vamp. If only his power wasn't so useless indoors he would bury the other man alive.
Marui pushed at his chest cheeks flushed. "You..you're crazy aren't you?" He whispered softly unsure. Was this an act? He looked back at Sanada wanting him to pull him away. He pushed again at Yuushi's chest.
"Possibly," the telepath smiled. "You have no reason to stay here, do you? Come back with me. I'll make you the most coveted trophy in our society." Each word was aimed at stirring more of those dark thoughts of Sanada's, while prompting Bunta to be honest about what he wanted. Soon, one of them would have to crack.
Sanada's hands clenched into fists and he turned white knuckled. He couldn't take this much longer. He clenched his jaw and remained froze in place, trying not to pay attention. How could that son of a bitch just show up and take away his one life line? The only person who'd ever been kind to Sanada unconditionally was about to be taken away from him. How could he just stand there and watch? No...he had to stay out of it. It wasn't his place. Yuushi had a higher standing in his family, he could take better care of Bunta than he could.
Marui shook his head shocked. "You...i..." He ducked his head pushing at Yuushi's chest again. "I do have a reason....i have Genchirou....i love him...if anyone claimed me...i want it to be him. I don't want anyone else claiming me but him! Only G..." he trailed off wide eyed blushing dark red wanting to hide. He'd just let it slip out.
"Don't be ridiculous, Bunta," Yuushi scolded him, drawing him back. "What can he give you? I doubt he cares much about you at all. After all, he is just standing there. He hasn't said a word. You would choose someone who wouldn't fight to keep you? I can give you much more than that..."
Sanada raised his head to look at the redhead in surprise. He knew Bunta loved him, and he of course loved him too, but he didn't know that Bunta wanted him to claim him. Moving before he'd even thought about it, Sanada pulled Bunta back against his chest and growled at Yuushi, fangs bared. He was useless and had no right to claim the redhead but damned if he was going to let Marui be claimed by someone he didn't even want.
Marui gasped when Sanada pulled him away and he leaned into his embrace closing his eyes for a long moment enjoying the feeling of being in his protective arms. 'I don't know if he wants to claim me at all...i don't know if he feels the same way but he's the one i want."
Unfazed by the fangs bared at him, Yuushi crossed his arms over his chest. "I've been listening to him, Bunta. Do you want to know what he's thinking right now?" He looked up at Sanada, challenging him to keep quiet.
Keeping his long fangs bared he wrapped his other arm around Marui as well, "Shut up, Yuushi..." he growled and held Marui protectively, "Stay out of my head."
Marui wanted to know. Marui wanted to know the thoughts that Sanada kept from him but he closed his eyes ducking his head. "I don't want to know." He lied.
"You're lying, Bunta," Yuushi said, calling him on it. "You want to know. There's a reason he doesn't want you to know..."
Sanada looked down at Bunta and frowned, why was Bunta lying? Was he actually lying? His eyes snapped back up to Yuushi at the next sentence though.
"You said it didn't you? He doesn't want me to know....you can't just tell me.....he has to tell me....and....until he does i don't want to do." He wanted to know badly but it seemed to upset Sanada so he tried to force down the curiosity eating at him.
"Obviously he's never going to. He can't even say it now, knowing how you feel," Yuushi pointed out, settling a derisive look straight at Sanada. "If he can't be honest with you...I have to wonder how good he is for you."
"Go to hell," He snapped at Yuushi and looked down at Marui again for a long moment, trying to figure out how to word things. Should he tell him? What did he want to hear? "Bunta......I......."
Marui bit his lip closing his eyes for a long moment. "Don’t want to claim me..." he said softly. "Right?" It could be the only thing he could think of why Sanada didn't want to tell him, trying to keep him from being upset.
Yuushi fell silent, curious as to how this was going to play out.
Sanada's eyes went wide, "W-what? No, of course that's not right...." Sanada turned marui to face him and lowered himself down to Marui's height, "I.....I just....don't deserve you...but....I won't let you go with anyone that you don't love completely. I won't let you be taken away by someone who won't make you the happiest man in the world."
Marui looked at him in shock before leaning to rest his forehead against Sanada's. "You're stupid." He said softly closing his eyes. "I think you deserve me...if you didn't....i wouldn't love or want you...." He sighed softly. "I hate when you think things like that....you're amazing in a lot of ways...so what about you doesn't deserve me?"
Shaking his head in amusement, because Sanada was nothing but amusing in his self deluded notions of honor, Yuushi walked for the door. It was about time, he thought, carefully closing off both vampire's thoughts from his mind. He didn’t need to know or hear anything more, and patted Sanada gently on the shoulder in passing. He turned his head enough to smile at Bunta briefly before letting himself out of the room.
Sanada looked to the blunette for a moment then turned his attention back to his red head, "I can't provide for you....I will never take over the family....I'm not a pureblood.....I'm nothing in our world......"
"When have i ever cared about those things?" Marui frowned. "Even if you were a human...even if you were turned or level e even....as long as you were you....that's all i need. Have i ever needed more?"
"You don't care....but I do.....I want you to be taken care of....to never have to worry.....I want to keep you safe from my father....and brother....." Sanada frowned as well and watched him.
"I'll be safe with you. I know you can protect me...i know you'll always care for me...isn't that enough?"
"I...I don't want you to be disappointed...."
He shook his head. "I wouldn't be..."
Sanada kissed him gently and hugged him, "then.....be patient.....until school is over......make sure there's no one else you want......and then.....then I'll claim you...."
Marui made a small sound and kissed him wrapping his arms around him. "Promise?" He said softly. "You have to promise...and then...i'll wait for you."
"I promise that if we're unclaimed when school is over.....that I will claim you and we'll spend the rest of our lives together...." He murmured and stole another small kiss.
Marui smiled at him happy at his words. "Good." He leaned on him closing his eyes. "I'm happy."
Sanada loved making Marui happy. It was one of the few things that brought him joy. He rubbed the others back and nuzzled him.
"Lay with me." He muttered pulling away to take his hand. He tugged him gently to the bed and laid down tugging Sanada to curl around him just enjoying the closeness now that things had been settled.
Obediently, Sanada laid down beside Marui and wrapped his arms around him.
