I had a lot of intention to write more impressions about my MIL's funeral and related experiences. I was essentially out of commission on LiveJournal for a good month or more while I was feeling exhausted, sick, and depressed from being pregnant. During that time, coincidentally, several close friends made Facebook accounts, and there seems to be a corresponding exodus from LJ. I'm seeing a lot fewer posts show up on my flist than I'm used to. ( Read more... )

I find that I repeat the phrase, "It's more complicated than that," over and over again until even I'm sick of hearing it. Especially when it comes to politics. I just hate political blurbs. I pretty much assume that any one-line argument for policy is wrong, and that seems to be statistically accurate ( Read more... )

We removed the last box from the storage unit last night. That doesn't mean we're unpacked. It means we have a ton of boxes in our garage. We also need one more trip back to the unit to get some posters, paintings, and the shelves to my china cabinet before we close it out.
