RADA is so removed from Real Life
We did a run of our badly translated playreading last night and it went surprisingly well. However thrown in with general good feedback, the director informed me solemnly that I've lost a lot of weight :-/ What? I'm sure I'd be the first to notice. But yeah, my average lunch consists of a bread roll, some melon pieces and a massive piece of cake. My tastes have moved into the extreme that basically makes my brain tell me "No worries, Ailsa! You can subsist entirely on sugar!" So as good as I have been about fruit, I somehow forgot the other stuff and I've eaten A LOT of cake. Which made the director's comment a bit weird but disturbingly awesome- sigh. My obsession with thinness is so not over.
Was sad last night cause even getting in late to the Man's, I'd hoped for a bit more of a greeting. But we just went straight to bed and to sleep and I felt rather like, "Why did I fucking bother spending £16 coming down here?" Cause he's out all day today and he's rehearsing tomorrow so I'm a bit sidelined.
But he phoned a minute ago just to say hello in between life modelling (AHAHA he had to pose naked for 3 hours...I wasn't allowed to come because I would have stood in between him and the artists) and a Murder Mystery event, where he's playing of the people who dies by choking. As you do. So get him this evening for some quality time and some proper lovin'. Bow chicka bow.
Verse and Song next Tuesday. Kind of tentatively looking forward to it. I am so fucking excited (and no one else in my year is cause they don't know who she is) but fucking Cicely Berry is coming to do a workshop with us; the Head of Voice at the Royal Shakespeare Company!! She's so famous and so cool. I'm going to be so geekily starstruck.
Had dinners with both Mountview friend Sophie and the infamous Jess and it was really really lovely. Had a great time catching up. It's been so long since I've hung out with anyone outside RADA and Alex. But on the plus side, also making really close friendships at RADA, being talking loads to Melissanthi who's beautiful and lovely. Unfortunately we look so similar but she's like me x100 so she'll get all the roles I go up for!
Had to play my Spring Awakening character incredibly stoned. So I basically delivered my lines like something out of Dude, Where's my Car? The scene got v weird and intense (we're working on scenes for 2 hours at times) and Jordan and I kissed in character. It's so weird, in what other profession would it be acceptable for me or Alex to kiss other people? Anyway, poor Jordan, I gave him my cold. But yeah that set me off feeling all sad and missing Alex. But I'm here at his now and it's only a few hours till he gets back. His cat is curled up on the bed next to me and he buzzes like an alarm clock if you stroke him and surprise him.
