hoping to discover my inner child . . .

A beautiful day today! Mid 70s, sun shining, and the humidity is low. I sat outside this morning and called my sister to thank her for the beautiful Inner Child Tarot Cards that arrived while we were gone. Thank you, Mary Lou! I know I will really enjoy them . . . “a journey into fairy tales, myth and nature.” I used to sit out under the trees in the morning and pick a card (from other decks ML has got me) and write about it while water painting a little picture to go with the card. I got away from doing that, so I hope this will encourage me to do it again.

Pete had his fire department lunch with the “old guys” today. This is a lunch started by the retired firefighters here in Bradenton and I call them: “the old guys.” Pete and several others started the luncheon after Pete retired 19 years ago. They hold it the first Wednesday at the same restaurant in the back room. They usually have from 12-24 every month who attend. Pete really looks forward to it and I don’t think (unless he has been sick or just had surgery) he has ever missed one of them.
And now he has his American Legion meeting (Pete was in the Navy) and dinner to go to once a month also, so he’s becoming a social butterfly. He’s such a homebody (well, we both are) but he does like getting together with his peers who are the “old guys.”

Pete re-broke his toe right after we got home! We don’t think it was healed up yet and just a small twisting pressure was all it took! So we got him a splint and it seems to be helping keep everything in its proper place.

Still going through my photos from the trip and just puttering around in general here today.
