I had to make a quick trip to the Island this morning. I left about 8:00, but because of DST it was still dark out. I swung by the Botanical Park and they had just opened their gates. It was pretty quiet -- no birds in the front pond, but as I sat there in the car, a hawk swooped down past my windshield and up onto a light pole on the other side of the road. I'm not sure what kind of hawk this is -- it might be the red-shouldered hawk. Des?
