My 7 X 50 binoculars arrived in the mail yesterday, and I used them to look at the sky tonight. They are better, but the wiggle of my hands still causes the binoculars to have a small wiggle. To do it right I think a tripod is needed. I suspect my family is going to buy me a telescope for my birthday in a few weeks, so I'll wait to see what happens ( Read more... )

Unfortunately when I inquired about the price I found out that it is outside my budget.

I ordered a pair of binoculars, Celestron 10 X 50. They arrived yesterday, and I tried them out last night. I read that 12 magnification is about as high as anyone can go and hold them steady, so I thought I would be okay with 10. But it was lousy, my hands are not very steady I guess.
