In the morning we went to the clinic for the Occupational Therapy Evaluation and it was interesting to see, at least to me -- the therapist was telling us what she was observing, instead of just giving us the final results (for example, "we expect you to move in this particular way but you are doing this other thing instead" or "the strength in ( Read more... )

Nice busy day: we went shopping for groceries and Dave had to rest for a few minutes but did the whole thing, we had a full cart. Then he cooked lunch, the entire household napped for a bit and then we went to see the Batman movie (The Dark Knight), which was long and good entertainment, if you don't poke fun at the plot holes. When we got Sasha, we were told she'd never be a guard dog -- the breeders told us if a thief came in, she'd be more likely to hide behind our legs, and they were surprised to hear us say that'd be fine: if someone gets into a home with a German Shepherd Dog with the intention of doing criminal things, they're not good people and the best thing the ( Read more... )

Thursday was Evaluation day at the Outpatient clinic, which is nearby but not as close as Rehab. Same parent company, different cities. Evaluation with both the PT and the Speech Therapists was fun to watch, and it will be interesting to see what treatment(s) they come up with. Not much therapy-wise today, it was more like a day of rest -- we'll be going to the Outpatient clinic Thursday morning and the new whirlwind will probably start.

On the other hand, lots of phone calls (including to the guy who will install grab bars in the tub), paying bills etc.

In the evening people came to visit, we had a lot of fun.

The season pilot seems a bit disappointing from a summary point of view. You really have to watch carefully for the set design, lighting choices, blocking etc to fully appreciate the characters' point of view... :-P ( Read more... )
