Running around (or walking around, anyway)

Lots of walking today, yay!

We went to Bally's to watch a yoga class and it was fun -- I think the instructor was positive and kept giving people alternatives in case a pose wasn't comfortable or in one's range. We may go to another class with a different instructor to see if there's any difference, but we liked her style. I often wonder if a Pilates trainer with a clue (as opposed to what a lot of them do, which seems to emphasize the goal instead of the journey) wouldn't be better, but yoga seems to be in the same space and it's gentle enough for absolute beginners like us (and yes, I'm aware that not all yoga classes are gentle).

Then we went to the local drugstore and of course I didn't bring a list and forgot a couple of items. Good thing it's not a test or something we urgently needed, although I'd be willing to bet that if it was more important we'd remember it. At least this instance of the drugstore chain doesn't seem to carry heat pads anymore: the version of "heat pads" they carry are the ones that you open the package and the chemicals react with oxygen and warm up, which, I'll give them it is a heat pad, is not the same as the electric ones. I've used the chemical ones when I had back aches and, while they can be a godsend, sometimes they are too hot or too cold, no doubt some variation in manufacturing. Also, they are disposable so one can run out of them. On the other hand, it's true they don't need an outlet to work. Whatever. I'll try another store, it's not urgent anyway.

In the evening we went to a house concert by thatwesguy and that was really fun. Among other things, he played different versions of a few of his songs and talked about the process of going from writing a song, to recording it and having it processed and turned into a CD. It was fascinating and I liked how each version emphasizes different parts of the songs. I'm looking forward to the record.

It's just amazing to me that we're walking around, up and down, planning on attending the gym and taking yoga classes. I like this getting better every day thing, I think it might be nice if it could happen to every one all over the planet.
