I have today off since I worked on Sunday. I slept in, which was lovely. When I got up I opened the windows in the bedroom and master bath upstairs and the living room and kitchen downstairs. The warm breeze feels wonderful. Hard to believe there was snow on the ground a week ago! It is freaking the cats out a bit. They aren't used to outdoor smells and noises. Ignatius likes to sit in the windowsill and sniff. Aelfgifu sometimes climbs into the window but seems perturbed. Josie and Kiera pretty much stay away. The garbage truck caused them a lot of consernation. Aelf ran around growling for a few minutes. :-)
I managed to get a few errands done online and via the phone. I am a terrible proscratinator when it comes to phone calls. I am much better at email, but still put off ordering stuff. I usually put it off then do it in a big flurry of activity.
One set of organic sheets arrived yesterday from
Overstock. I washed them last night. They are fabulous and much better made than the sheets I had been purchasing. The best part is that they were less than a third of the retail price and cheaper than regular sheets. Woo-hoo! We can get rid of the old sheets in the impending yard sale.
The compost bin seems to be working out pretty well. I need to roll it around the yard today and add more stuff. I am hoping to plant some stuff this spring so we will have a use for the compost. The 4H in Anderson is selling Leyland cypress and sugar maples as a fundraiser. Since we lost the big Bradford pear in the front yard due to last week's storm, we need to replace it. Eldred has a lead on some oak saplings too. Maybe this will be the year we will finally put in the rain garden.
I have hit the weight goal I wanted to achieve by the end of February. Only a couple of weeks late, so not too bad. I have been getting to the gym twice a week. I hope to increase to 3 times but twice is better than nothing. I am enjoying the gym. I love the weight machines. I am walking on the treadmill 10-15 minutes before the machine workout. Last week I tried the gym in Clemson. They had some different machines, so it was bit of an adjustment. It's convenient to go there when I go to UUFC for Treasurer stuff, so I will keep going.
I got my hair cut last Thursday and sent it to Locks of Love. My hair is shorter than it has been in probably 20 years, but I like the haircut. It feels nice and bouncy! In a few weeks I should be able to put it in a teeny ponytail to get it off my neck when I am too hot. That's an important consideration for me.
