"And you cry and you want to die"

The stipend ran out, so I'm back home, after spending a couple of days living in the maths dept. Sleeping on an office floor, sans sleeping bag, isn't fun. But then my uncle was in town, so I could get a shower, and read my baby cousins a bed time story. Beatrix really likes that I'm her godfather. Anyway. I'm home, and am considering moving to Glasgow.

I just had the stupidest conversation with some 14-17 year old girls at the village shop
"'Scuse me, this is a bit of a random question, but do you straighten your own hair"
".. erm, no, I don't straighten my hair, ever."
"Is it really long?"
[Pause]"... Well, it's about this long, you can see it here."
"No, when you straighten it, is it really long?"
"Erm, well, I don't ever straighten it."

What can you say?

Oh, and I'm toying with the idea of asking to have the Benny Hill theme at my funeral, after a conversation where Graham was referring to it as "not funeral music". I think it could work. And it'd be appropriate...
