In other words, it's been too damned long since I was able to come here and say "hi" to all my wonderful friends. Then again, so freaking much has happened to me and my family, I honestly don't know where to even start getting back in touch here. {sigh}
Thank the gods for
weisshund! My darling brother has been kind enough to post occasional updates about my universe in his own journal, so I know a few of you are already aware of the worst of it around here. Oh, "here" has changed. After my dad died in 2005, my mom fell apart and as a result, I sold the Casa de Llama, parceled out my greatly missed Chibi girls, and moved in 2006 to a little town named Havelock, NC, best known for the US Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point. Yup. A yaoi writer is now surrounded on a daily basis by strapping young Marines. You'd think it would be a paradise, right? Wrong. They're young, sometimes foolish, and are all at risk of being sent to Iraq, so I try not to let them make me insane now that I live in a townhouse. Hmmmm... what is the Spanish word for "townhouse"? A new pseudonym for my personal residence seems to be in order.
If anyone wants more of the gory details about all of this, just ask. I'll write a separate post sometime to explain WTF the DHoC is and why the CCL sometimes makes my life far more difficult than my children ever did.... after they got out of diapers, that is. Oh, and later on I'll bore y'all to death with info on my current less than satisfactory computer set-up and other mundanities of my day-to-day life living alone for the first time in a VERY long time.
But I digress. There are actually many more things that have changed in my life than what I've hinted at, yet I hesitate to launch into a lengthy discussion of same since so many folks here are only interested in whether or not the muses are still speaking to me.
Ah, I am delighted to say that they are indeed and---believe it or not---quite a bit of writing has been done since last we met on this cozy site. Again, I'm not sure how much to go into this here and now, but let me just post some numbers and we'll see who wants to hear more about what. Oh, and for the record, they are ALL classified as unedited currently, but some are finished in rough draft and some aren't. All of the pieces that I've been working on are set in new continuities for reasons that take too long to explain. Again, if you want to know more, just ask.
Painful Lessons is a new continuity from "Saiyuki Reload" and currently amounts to an angst fest based on the manga NOT the anime. Incomplete. 51,000+ words, 14 chapters. (Gojyo + Hakkai) No lemon yet, but the original outline called for some eventually.
This is heavy relationship angst set immediately after the "Burial Arc" and has a far less "kindler, gentler" feel to it than Fateful Encounters did. This time Gojyo and Hakkai are hopefully more true-to-life nineteen year olds: selfish, confused, contradictory, noncommunicative, and occasionally horny. This one's very near and dear to me, but the last blood-soaked chapter that Melpomene foisted upon me sent me into a tailspin and it's been on "hold" ever since. Oh, and for those of you who like my original characters, wait until you meet Anise and Kree. {dark smile}
The Realizations Arc is an entirely new continuity for "Weiss Kreuz".
So far, the arc begins with a trilogy of stories entitled Ken's Quandary. This features my all-time favorite threesome, but it's not as nice and neat as it was in CNR. Think angst + sex + missions + blood + more angst. You get the idea.
KQ: Afternoon Complete. 12,500+ words. (Ken solo, Yohji x Ken) Lemon.
KQ: Evening Complete. 14,400+ words. (Aya x Ken) Lemon.
KQ: Midnight Complete. 26,200+ words. (Yohji x Aya, Yohji x Ken, Aya x Ken, etc.) Lemon.
Next is the currently untitled Omi/Nagi story {waits for darling
yangai_sen to cheer}. Incomplete. 12,400+ words. Lemon. Less bloodshed than KQ, but not less angst. Oh, and it includes bondage.... Um, and CLAMP characters... Er, and more....
After that will be the untitled and only vaguely outlined Brad/Schu story that will FINALLY give those two the lemon action they've deserved for quite awhile. How long it will be, I haven't a clue. What I do know is that it will include a fight scene between the precog and the telepath along with the requisite "first time" sex scene via flashback that is the hallmark of the entire arc.
What comes after that story for this continuity is unclear. Melpomene and Erato haven't deigned to grace me with knowledge of their schemes, but I don't plan to write Farfarello a lemon due to his characterization in this continuity. Whether or not these tales will give birth to yet another epic, I'm afraid to even contemplate.
Beyond these pieces, who knows? For the longest time, whenever I contemplated returning to LJ, I knew I wanted to come back bearing gifts of fanfiction, and hopefully these will serve to whet the appetites of a few folks out there.
On the anime front, I've joined the modern era of broadband internet and have been downloading torrents like a mad thing for almost a year now. {big, goofy grin} I'll go into that in greater detail sometime soon. Hell, I know better than to start blabbering about it here while my muses are paying attention. They have enough meat to chew on right now and I don't want to remind them of all the wonderful bishounen I've been admiring in recent months.
Now, before I bore everyone to death even worse than I already have, let me end with a plea for assistance. I desperately need some new eye candy in the form of icons since all of my old ones that weren't uploaded here are long since lost. Some to go with my fics would be really nice {smiles sweetly at
duet_chan and other creative friends} but so would links to good icon journals for BLEACH, Weiss Kreuz, Saiyuki, Kyo Kara Maoh, etc. Any assistance will be welcomed and all creators will be given full credit on my userpic page as always.
Enough, enough, enough! I've rambled on and on mostly because I'm so happy to be back, so I hope you won't hate me for it. Three years away from such dear friends has taken a toll, but it'll be all right soon, I hope. Of far greater importance is my wish for everyone reading this that they are doing well, too, and will forgive me as a I slooooooowly get back in touch. There's no way I can go back and read everyone's journal entries that I've missed---heck, I don't have time to review my own--- but I'll try to pick things up as I go along.
Love to you all and thanks for letting me back into your lives!
