I have many things I'd like to write and post here.  However, I'm physically limited these days in how many words I can write.  I have a novel to finish, a long official report to compile, and deadlines on both.  I also have to show up on my own current-project blog because it's only three months until Book Day for COLD WELCOME, and make at least ( Read more... )

Although I had two very sticky days with the book this week, I made my words goal with some spare change--just over 12,000.

And I must remember that some nice email/comments showed up.  On the other hand...so did some not-nice ones.

Thirty-nine years ago today,  we were married.   R- was in the Army, about to head for 'Nam.  I was in the Marines, stationed at HQMC.  We honeymooned in Texas, mostly camping (including in Big Bend and the Davis Mountains) and then were separated for a year by half the planet and a war.

The tractor engine appears to be working again, after R- cleared an airlock (after once more finding no water in the fuel line.)

That's when he noticed the flat tire.  It wasn't flat (not that flat anyway) yesterday.

Yesterday I headed out on the big tractor to do some fall mowing.  Partway through, my stalwart John Deere began to lose power.  I tried this, I tried that, but in the end nursed it back to the north horse lot (lined up with the gate, so if the dealer has to winch it aboard a flatbed trailer, it's in a good spot.   It died while I was trying to ( Read more... )
