Friday night I sat in the emergency room, wondering if it was wrong to ask the woman on the other side of the curtain where she purchased her glasses. They were red and beautiful. It seems all I want to do is read, write, and research things on my own time. I have no patience for the real world and desperately want a studio with soft lighting, fresh flowers, a window that looks out over the city, an old bookshelf, and a typewriter.

I'd like to publish a book. And yet I don't think I have enough words in me.
