I am excited for the first time in a while. Last weekend was cool with the Toys for Tots event in Clarksville, but I was bummed that the parade in Shelbyville was cancelled. This weekend, I will be in a parade on both Saturday and Sunday, not as Plo Koon, but as the emperor. It was decided for me that I would be the emperor last Saturday night. I happened to have some material in my car that would work for the robe, and Rose from Knoxville has mad sewing skills, so I will have a robe to use. I had already ebayed a cane and broach and they should be here either today or tomorrow. I have spent the last 2 nights making a full length under tunic, that is about 90 percent complete. I still need to finish the collar and then do a bottom hem on it. I have to say, that I am impressed in how it looks. The difference between the first two things I made with the sewing machine was like night and day, and this is the 3rd item. It looks pretty darn good. I shaved my goatee and bought makeup to age myself. I finally have a reason to use my yellow contacts too which is always a plus to have validation for what kind of seems like a waste of money at the time.
The parades are going to be in Gallatin and Hendersonville. We have an Obi-Wan and Anakin, Ryan and Joe, who are going to duel in front of the judges, and then there will be 40-50 folks marching total in our group. I think this might be the thing that I need to get me in the holiday spirit.
