Hello! First time making a proper post to this comm after lurking for over a year so lets hope I've done this properly...

Anyway, my local Armageddon Expo (a little convention we have here in New Zealand) is coming up in less than a week and I have decided to go as the Tardis. I'm most of the way through my costume already but am posting here now in case anyone can offer me any advice on what looks good/bad at the moment or anything I should consider doing differently.

I've included a picture of what I've got so far as well as a mock-up of what it I'm currently wanting it to look like when done, under the cut.

.

I have been trying to stick to the current incarnation of the tardis quite strictly and the idea with the legs was for it to be a bit more console-room-esque. I was contemplating wearing a metallic-y orange-copper skirt under the blue one (cutting it so the front is still short) but finding something suitable for this is proving tricky.

Unfortunately the camera flash has made the slight colour difference between the skirt and the blazer really stand out - they look much more similar in colour in real life.

The makeup was a trial run and is supposed to look nebula like/spacey-wacey (based on this tutorial in case you're intereted http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnvqVxoFTFs). It should look a whole lot better once I get white face-paint to block the stars in and get some more eyeshadow in a deeper blue. The flash has also washed it out a bit.

Still left to do is add the pull to open sign, st john ambulance logo, lantern top on the hat, epaulets and replace the neck ribbon and hat band with new black ribbon with "police public call box" printed on it.

Any advice/comments/questions are appreciated.

work in progress, the tardis
