OPA Special Edition

Today is May 1st.  The weather is getting nicer in the northern hemisphere and it's time to get out and do things and enjoy this wonderful season.  So, since I've been so bad the last several days I thought this is a good time to get myself back on track.  Later this month I'm off to do more hiking -- in Acadia National Park up in Maine.  Walking through the city sure isn't like hiking through the mountains.  In case you haven't noticed, Illinois is pretty flat!  So, to build up some endurance, I'm going to start walking the stairs here at the condo.  No, I don't mean walkkng the stairs just to get to the garage and back.  I mean going from the first floor to the fourth floor, back down, back up, back down... you get the idea, right?  I've done this before going up and down twice, and that's where I'll start.  I'm hoping to do this maybe 3-4 times a day to start, then maybe working to going up and down three times (I only have four floors to work with, so doing it twice or three times is my only way to extend it with just a brief "rest" going down to the bottom again).    And I will continue to do the exercise bike.  I'm also going to start posting again what I've eaten, just to keep myself honest.  Whether you want to join along in the OPA adventure or not, ask me how I'm doing, keep me honest, don't let me get away with anything!  I am putting together a five year plan and it calls for a more fit and healthy me!  So help me get there, nag me!  And join me if you can!
