...the famous chocolatier...

If you didn't understand 'Frankenweenie' or thought 'Edward Scissorhands' was merely a weird love story... ignore this paragraph, there is no hope for you. Okay, for anybody who hasn't seen it, go see "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". It follows the book better than the last version, the song lyrics are directly from there, Danny Elfman is a musical genius, Tim Burton is a genius who must have dropped alot of LSD or something during the design phase, Johnny Depp is hot, gay and socially inept, Missi Pyle might be the only actress better at socially inept than Depp, god only knows where they got the budget for this, the special effects are creepy, Christopher Lee as Dr. Wonka makes Saruman look like small time evil and Deep Roy as the Oompa Loompas was... utterly indescribable. I laughed and clapped my hands with glee many a time. Flaming puppets, whipped cows, evil parents, chocolate rivers, Depp tw34k1ng, squirrel attacks, song and dance routines, inference that chocolate bars will evolve mankind... it was just... poppy!
And the new Harry Potter is good too. I don't do spoilers, but feel free to discuss it with me... Several things I foresaw... and several I did not. Finishing book 6 just made me want to read the whole series again with the new information I gleaned.
Phoenix was great. Transylvania was gloriously pretentious. 4 guys were hitting on Lorelei at the same time. My wife managed to cock-block them all by using her wit. Ask her about it, it's a great story. Got asked sex-life advice from multiple friends over the weekend... gah, my gay neighbor who's slept with almost 100 times as many people as me asked me advice on how to properly tie a boy 5-point spread-eagle... Found out some others are doing it again and I'm glad they're finding happiness again. Now don't be idiots and hurt without talking again! Saw people all the time there and didn't get to spend enough time with any of them or even see a quarter of those I wanted to see.
As to Highlands... we still want to go. Being able to afford it is still up in the air.
There's more to tell, but if I did that, I wouldn't have any good stories for practice. :-)
