I feel summer slipping away. *in denial*
June 12 is the Independence Day celebration of the Philippines. I remember last year, when I had my Independence Day(s) of sorts; only, technically, those days fell on National Heroes' Day. But I digress.
Over the summer, I've seen photos on forums and blogs taken in Boracay, and man, was it crowded or what. It seems the best month to go there would be during the 3rd quarter of the year, when it's not so crowded (well, unless the crowd is the main reason you're going there, then I won't argue with that). August last year, I met up with Nicole and Jane (
hemisofia) at the airport for a stolen weekend in Boracay. ("Stolen weekend" sounds so illicit, no?) Chelli was already there, waiting for us at the resort we're staying in. She's the advanced party. *wryyyyy*
Two days and two nights. So many memories made with awesome ladies. :) I still have the burn I sustained from those days. Strips on my shoulders, and on my thighs. They refuse to go away, but they're a handy reminder every time I go to the beach to (a) slap sunscreen on, and (b) do not fall asleep while lying out in the sun, no matter how tempting it is. It was disconcerting to look in the mirror during those two days and see lobsters instead of human beings.
BUT HAPPY LOBSTERS THEY WERE, SO ALL'S GUHHHHREAT!
Here are some photos taken from that trip. Really, trips like these make me realize how it's more fun in the Philippines! :)
I wish we can do this again soon, ladies!!!
Upon arrival, we stowed our stuff in our room, went out into the beach, and lay down. Dozed off. Woke up. Burnt. OUCH.
Can you spot the Ohmiya?
Spicy King Crabs. With green mangoes and fish sauce. ZOMG. BLISS. (and cholesterol)
We also went island-hopping, further reinforcing the burn and lobster looks!
This was on one of the islands. There was a crystal cove (more like a cave) so minor (very minor) spelunking here.
Don't you just love blue? I do!
Niji wa kireii da yo~

Willy's Rock.
Oh, we also tried going out on one of the paraws. Awesomesauce!!!
Such a fine fine time~.
