A Post for Filipino AIBAKALANDERS

Jun 19, 2008 10:25

So Arashi Around Asia 2 is around the corner.

Sino ang pupunta?

This post is only:

2. To share news and info na masasagap tungkol sa mga detalye papunta roon, maging detalye tungkol sa tickets.
3. This post will be continually updated as info is posted by any of you guys.

*shoots self*)

A. BUDGET (AND TICKET) CONCERNS

Mainly, three:
1. Airline tickets (includes visa processing)
     - Visa is a requirement for Pinoys entering Taipei. In this regard, kailangang may maipakitang valid proof ng pagpunta doon, like an invitation for a visit. In our case, I think the concert ticket and itinerary would suffice. Which means, kailangang nakabili na ng ticket and nakabook na sa accommodations before makakuha ng VISA at maka-book ng airline ticket.
     - Option nyo for acquiring a Visa is to apply DIRECTLY or padaanin sa travel agents.
     - REQUIREMENTS TO FILIPINOS APPLYING FOR VISA TO TAIWAN

From PHILIPPINE AIRLINES.COM

Manila to Taipei
For only USD 138 (TAPSALE) plus taxes and applicable surcharges
* Minimum of 2 days and maximum of 8 days stay
* Travel from Manila is allowed from 01 April to 25 December 2008
* Travel is not permitted from Manila Inbound from 15 to 24 December 2008
* Ticketing must be completed 16 days before departure
* No mileage accrual

USD 138 = roughly Php 6900, using the USD1=Php50 convertion. Not too sure if this is round-trip. I doubt it.
The one travel agency I was able to ask named Php13,000 as round-trip na.

There is actually a tour package called Swingaround Taipei which runs from July 1 to October 15, which pretty much covers the concert dates. But tour packages...hmmm....restrictive kasi there is a schedule to follow. But just in case....for your info....CLICK HERE. (Acrobat Reader required).

From CATHAYPACIFIC.COM

For some reason, their fare rates from Manila to Taipei are not indicated on their site. Or my 30-minutes 'frolicking' in their site was my dumb moment, who knows. But they have a LOT of flights from the Oct 10-13 time frame.

From CEBU-PACIFICAIR
So far, parang sila pa ang murang nakita ko (online). Check THIS OUT. Kaya lang exclusive of taxes and surcharges pa siya.

Pahirapan na to. Options, options, options.

2. Accommodation (includes your pocket money)
     - Some dependent on #1. Unless may alam kayong mas okay.

3. Concert ticket

We can probably do our own researches (online and offline) regarding the tickets and accommodation. As for the concert ticket cost itself, saka lang natin malalaman once naglabas na sila ng info.

Ang problema is to buy them ON TIME para hindi tayo masupalpal ng SOLD OUT. Dalawang dates naman yon, pero we never really know.

profoundcorner gave me info about the ticket handlers of NEWS' Taipei Concert, it was ERA Tickets. I e-mailed them asking if they are also in charge sa AAA2. Pero wala pa reply hanggang ngayon. (Baka hindi makaintindi ng English. Tsekwa sila, di ba? lolz)
Phone Number: 02-2341-9898

True enough, the concert was Oct 6 and 7, pero the tickets went on sale on August 10....2 months.

B. SAMA-SAMA PAPUNTA???

While this is a mighty good idea, I don't think it'll be applicable for everyone. Una, some are from the provinces from  while others are in Manila. Unless that can be worked around on, it is more likely that the flights would be to each her own. In my case, iikot na ako sa travel agencies dito sa Baguio over the weekend and find the cheapest (Yes, I am kinda like Nino at times.).

There's a suggestion that the plane tix be bought as a group, then meet-up na lang sa airport to get them. Thoughts? But....book directly with an airline, or engage a travel agent's help? And we'd have to have a consensus regarding WHICH AIRLINE TO USE.

But  I won't be averse to the idea of a Pinoy Aibakalanders meet-up sa Taipei. Just sayin'....:)

Anyway, those who are sure to go, raise your hands. *raises mine...including my best friend's....*
