I was planning a sarcastic review of a book I just read and how that book made me crave reading Kurt Vonnegut. But I was shocked and very saddened this morning to learn of Mr. Vonnegut's death yesterday. He will be very missed.
I came back from my holiday weekend yesterday to the news of the tsunami in Asia. I am horror struck at the massive death and destruction caused by the tsunami. So many dead. So much property destroyed. So much. It pulls at me. I can only donate so much, and it seems not enough

I'm back in Ohio. I got back yesterday afternoon. It was actually a good visit. The only sad part was that my grandmother was not able to hang on until I got there to say goodbye. She died about half an hour before my plane landed. I was disappointed, but the really important thing for me was to make the effort to be there and see her one last

My brother called me yesterday to let me know that my grandmother is dying. She has been aspirating fluids for a few weeks, and she finds it hard to swallow food. She has stopped eating and she's very weak. My bother hadn't seen her, but I also talked with my father and cousin, who had. The people at the care facility where she lives are
