Twinkle, twinkle little bat

I stayed home again today, and I'm making sure I get lots of rest. I really want to go to work tomorrow though. The house is starting to feel confining.

I'll get back to studying soon, but first something from Friday. The bat is okay. Or at least a bat is okay. I discovered it flying around inside my house Friday night when I got home. It flew around my bedroom for a while, then headed into the upstairs bath. After I stopped laughing at the bizarreness of having a bat in my bathroom, I shoo'd the cats out, closed the door, and opened a window so it could fly out. And turned off the light so it could see. After waiting half an hour, I went back upstairs to see if it had found the open window. It hadn't. It was curled up on the top of my shaving cream in a corner of my shower. Using a towel, and being very carful, I was able to catch the critter in the towel and carry it over to the open window. It clicked angrily at me. It continued to make this noise as I unwrapped it from the towel. Then there was an almost comical moment when it looked up and realized it was actually outside, and it flew off into the night.

I don't know if it was the same bat I found injured here last summer. I couldn't get a close look at its wing to see if there was a scar in the webbing. I have noticed that something has been living around some of the duct work in my cellar, tearing up the insulation there. That could have been this bat. How it got into the house I have no idea. Ah, life in the country!

Okay, back to studying. My network communication systems class is entirely on-line and has no textbook, just powerpoint slides. On the one hand, no book to have to buy! On the other hand, bulletted notes are a bit difficult to understand. Going through the list of study questions the instructor has provided, I am having a little difficulty determining what answers she is looking for among the slides. I just have to remind myself that it is an open-note test, and move on when I'm confused. As long as I know where the material is, I should be able to figure out the multiple choice and true/false questions fairly well.
