(no subject)
Today is June 1, and I am wearing a sweatshirt. I love, love, love this weather. This whole spring has been cool, and weather sunny, like today, or cloudy as it has often been, the temperature has been even - in the 60's and low 70's. I wish it could be like this all year.
I planted a few herbs in my backyard herb and vegetable garden: basil, lavender, and horehound. I have thyme and sage from last year. I also planted zucchini squash. Around each of the plants I laid nice rich compost from the bottom of my compost pile.
I disturbed an ant nest, but didn't get stung.
I weeded the garden by the front steps. I pruned back the bamboo plants, which have been there for three years, and are growing like weeds. Three of the thicker shoots I cut out I will dry and perhaps make wind chimes.
Now I need to find string to tie the sage and thyme that I gathered for drying.
