Day Ten: One confession.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself.
1. I've got a thing for "War of the Worlds." I own DVD copies of the 1953 movie, the Tom Cruise remake, a Direct to DVD release that takes place in the 1890s and a second Direct to DVD release that's done as a 35 minute newscast set in the present day. I've also got a copy of the book and one of the radio show. And I watched the TV series back in the day. I just loves me some Martians.
2. I've likewise got a thing for EC comics -- mainly the SF/Fantasy books but some of the true crime and horror stuff is pretty awesome. Granted, some of the stories are sexist as, well, you'd expect from a 1950s comic, but other stories are just...WOW! Seriously.
3. I can't tell Chance from Human Target and Carter from Eureka apart. I know they're different actors but every single time I see one or the other I think they're the same guy.
4. When I was small, I remember talking to a babysitter about whether or not she watched cartoons and I remember telling her that when I was OLD (which was 18, to give you an idea of how young I was) I would still watch cartoons. I'm 40 and I still watch cartoons.
5. I wish I could speak a foreign language. Other than, y'know, bits of Mando'a and some utterly useless bits of French.
6. I have recently had a mad-on to cook. Not real food but snacks and desserts. Specifically, hamentashen (spelling?) and Chex Mix.
7. I do not believe that my period brings me any special powers, unless the ability to sleep 14 hours in a day and eat my own weight in beef jerky is a power.
8. I like Robert A. Heinlein's Podkayne of Mars, both the book itself and the main character. Though I think the original ending suits the overall story for the best.
9. I am currently in love with a big blue blanket because it is soft and my head hurts and it understands my pain like no one else can. Also, Excedrine makes a mighty fine PMS drug, just sayin'.
