It's been a delightful two days.
Yesterday, after work, I can't remember what happened now...
ummm
Oh yeah. I decided to be more social and I hung out with my cousins for a while. Just sitting in the kitchen, shooting the proverbial shit. Claire, the youngest of the three (8th Grade) had apparently injured her finger during school and, after requesting a second bag of ice after her first had melted, was promptly denied due to the school being "out of ice". We discussed the unliklihood of anyone being out of ice ever as long as water faucets and freezers are in such ready supply. I suggested that if this happens again, she share the secret formula for ice with the school nurse. I hope she doesn't get suspended.
We also discovered that the sour cream had gone bad. I'm not sure how you really tell, since it's already sour, but rest assured we disposed of the sour...er cream. Then we realized that we didn't eat enough for dinner and wanted more food. We persuaded my uncle, who had at this point been at work for 13 hours, to let us pick him up and go to Chipotle with me. I love Chipotle. The night was finished with a burrito and a rousing round of Blockus, which is a board game that is apparently all the rage amongst my family members.
I lost.
Then today, I went to Claire's Jr. High concert. You know, one of those things where all the kids are forced to learn a few songs and stand on stage in a big group and sing for their parents while some weird guy conducts them really over enthusiastically and an old lady plays the piano. It was a true delight. There was one kid with a little red bow tie that walked off stage early, then turned around and realized no one was following him and threw his arms in the air as if to say "What the Fuck?!" And there was another kid in a green and white striped shirt who stood way in the back and waved for half the performance. Kids are funny. Also, off key. But the show was still fun. Later we went to a Ben & Jerry's ice cream shop and I got a brownie sundae that was much much larger than I originally anticipated. Now I'm stuffed full of brownie and ice cream.
Today I got to see the famous Lake Minnetonka. I did not cleanse myself in them, but perhaps one day before the summer is over, I will. I also found out that Prince actually has a house on Lake Minnetonka and it's all purple. Amazing! If I find my camera, expect some pictures of me outside Prince's house and maybe a picture of me getting beat up by Prince's security guards... and then a picture of me throwing garbage at Prince's house.
Tomorrow night, I'm going to see Minus the Bear at the Triple Rock which I am led to belive is a reputable rock venue. Anyone else want to go? ...Anyone? ...oh.
Staring at code all day has made my brain go mushy. I got an email from Stacy that read "I got a sad sad glimpse at my summer on Saturday and Sunday, and that wasn't even a full two days. My parents were watching America's Funniest Home Videos and thoroughly enjoying it, and I rode a horse. I think I'm going to slip off the earth this summer - fun times" but I read as "...and I fell off a horse." So I emailed her asking how she fell off the horse and if she's okay... smooth. I'm going to have to assume this is what it's like to be a software guy.
