Commute/Snow Update
My work was canceled which was good because given the traffic snarl last night when the morons that be decided to dump 3x reg. rush hour traffic onto the roads IN FRONT of the plows... Brian's 30 min commuter took him 5 hr 15 min.... there's no way I could have gotten there based on traffic volume.
My brother's was even longer.
I learned this lesson way back in Blacksburg. Do NOT leave when the Sherrif comes into the event and announces that anyone not planning on spending the night had better leave now. NO! Their "Oh shit!" announcment factors in 30-60 minutes of dawldle time for those who aren't good at picking up and leaving "NOW!". If you do pick up and head home you will (And believe me this was NO FUN.) blaze the trail for the snow plow! If instead you wait 30-60 minutes you will still be able to leave and the plows will have gone in FRONT of you.
Yes, that's right. I am suggesting that in a snow fall one should have the plows clear the roads BEFORE dumping hoards on them. Crazy isn't it.
Anyway....we have power. Our awesome new neighbor came and plowed us out. Throw a few parties, have an almost sleepover get plowed for free. Great deal! So, time for sledding, hot cocoa and cookies.
