Monsters!!!
A few days before I went to Colorado the lovely and talented mamishka posted a monster mashup party. The idea was that we all brought a few sacrificial stuffed animals and cut them up and made wonderful chimera out of them. I had waaaaay to much fun with this project.
These first four are the ones that I made here in Massachusetts.
this is Myrtle. She is part giraffe, part iguanna, part frog, and part gorilla. My wonderful goddaughter Hotspur became very enamored of her, so Myrtle now lives with her.
Bunshark and Dostrich are kind of self-explanatory. They are both quite small, and I am terribly pleased with how weirdly organic they look.
This is Humphrey. I made him as a gift for Kenny, to cheer him up while he was sick.
orbitalmechanic says that Humphrey is really just a walrus in drag, but I think he is so much more than that.
Then, when I got to Colorado, Shana and I went hog-wild. we made three separate trips to various thrift stores around town and made over a dozen monsters between the two of us. Here are the ones I made...
Tish christened this one Gramble. Here Is a picture of Gramble with my brother Kenny.
This one has three heads and five eyes and ten legs.
This one is basically a mock-turtle. It now lives with the little girls who live in my mother's basement.
This one needs two views to be properly appreciated. It lives with my Mom now.
And this one is now in the possession of my mother's boyfriend John. See if you can spot the relationship between this monster and the one above it

this one now lives with Nate and Claudia, who were there to hug me when I got the news I had to go to Colorado.
and this one pulled a Teletubby underwater with its long arms and then skinned it for a hat! Dangerlad! now owns this one, but I didn't help tell him the story of its violent tendencies. I had a hard time convincing him that it was actually a friendly monster. beah christened this one Rex.
My mom called this one the leaning Tower of Fox
This one is all Shana's fault. She cut off the beak to use for something else and then I just HAD to put an extra head in there. And then, well, other stuff happened.
This one was Tish's V-day gift. It has a really great tail that you can't see in this pic.
and this one is a nightmare, of course:)
I have a ton of pictures of the monsters Shana made as well, and perhaps I will post them soon. But I figured this was enough monsters to keep y'all busy for at least a little while*grin*
