Spent a long weekend at the Cape Saturday through Monday. Certainly not the weeklong beach/reading/ice cream fest of yore, but still nice to do an abbreviated version and hang out with the mom and sibs. Sunday afternoon's long beach walk and ocean swim combo definitely hit the spot.
Then on the last leg of my bus ride back to Williamstown, I ran into Danielle, a fellow '09 geo major, just back from field research in Ireland and a semester in New Zealand before that! So we had lots of fun catching up on department gossip and grabbing a late dinner once we arrived in town.
Today we snuck in another day of field work before this week's round of thunderstorms sets in. You know it's bad when your professor remarks in the morning that after today you'll have one of those, "Oh my gosh, my advisor is sooo crazy, you won't believe the hike he made us do today..." stories. And sure enough, after spending the entire morning bushwhacking up a steeper-than-angle-of-repose slope, I can't entirely feel my legs.
I'm sure at some point I had something more interesting to write about, but that's all I've got for now.
