Check out this article for several exciting reasons that I get to brag about:
1) Long Island pride
2) Snobby academic pride because some Big Deal sustainability organizations are calling Southampton great
3) Plain and simple little kid-esque pride: my dad helped put this together! He's an administrator at the Stony Brook main campus and has been involved with the Southampton project since the beginning, basically.
In other familial news, Katy is visiting for the weekend. We hung out at Tunnel City yesterday and then saw Batman! She also got to experience Williamstown's bar scene, since there's only one of them. We're about to head to the Blue Benn, which I anticipate Katy will thoroughly appreciate. (Old school prefab diner in Bennington, with lots of handwritten and old computer printout "specials" covering most visible surfaces of the back wall. Incredible food, of course.)
