I may have just finished my 12 page report (single space, so in school year terms that's 24), which is pretty exciting! It's been really interesting to just write one paper for an extended period of time, because as much as professors tell you to reread, proofread, revise, etc, there's just no way you can do that adequately during the school year, no matter how early you start the assignment. So now technically I just have a 2 or 3 page writeup to do and I'm done! For now, at least. I still get to be involved with it during the year -- most tangibly in the form of a Log Lunch talk in October, which I shall forcibly drag you to if you're on campus!
I can't believe I have less than a week until school "starts." I say this in quotes because I actually have a week of training starting on Wednesday, and then there's First Days, which is the freshmen orientation week, and then classes actually start. But still, I go back to school on Wednesday! Six days! Silly to phrase it that way, since I'm on campus til Saturday, and my vacation between job and school is a glorified long weekend, but I still feel the excitement and anticipation that I normally do.
In about an hour I'm going out to dinner with Bonnie and Noe, our last hurrah for basically a year, considering the likelihood of at least one of us being gone next summer. I can't fathom my life at Williams without the suite. Honestly, we've been here together since the very beginning. Bonnie was the first person I awkwardly introduced myself to. We have our vibe and our groove, our group dynamics, and to be separated from that sounds a little frightening. But enough of being solemn, because for now we're going to put on dresses and treat ourselves to a nice dinner!
