Last night was a very productive night for me. I put a bunch of our old aquariums and reptile lamps I've had sitting in the basement for the better part of a year
up for sale, as well as
our old range. If any of you want any of the smaller stuff, like the reptile lighting or the lids, I can probably arrange to ship it to you. I also finally got sick of looking at piles of clothes on our bedroom floor and actually started organizing. Clean clothes folded or hung, dirty clothes in a hamper, anything we will never wear thrown in a pile for garage sales. Then I had Taylor clear out his dresser of anything he will never wear and vacuumed the floor before having to leave for work.
Today, I'm gonna finish folding the pile of clean clothes in the basement, wash sheets, finish washing clothes, fold and hang everything, and put everything away. Then I'll make him go through the box or two still sitting in the corner from when we moved in (almost a year ago, holy shit) and then our bedroom will finally be completely clean.
My intention is to buy new sheets and a comforter, a bed skirt, and maybe a headboard and new curtains, and repaint the walls. I'd also like to find a cheap recliner/chair/loveseat, small bookshelf, maybe another dresser, and some new nightstands, and maybe rearrange the room for the third time in a year. I'd also like to get
this for the closet, if it fits. It'll take me a while to get everything, since I'm trying to balance my current budget between gas, food, Otakon, getting a new humidifier for the hermit crabs, gathering the supplies I need for a 20-gallon shrimp aquarium, and trying to keep enough money in my account to have something to put into my savings at the end of each pay period. I think I'm starting to get better at it, though, and after Otakon I can kind of put cosplay on the back-burner for the rest of the year, since we aren't doing any other cons until January.
After that, I want to tackle either the basement, guest bedroom, or the side room with the non-working sink where I do all of my crafty stuff. After I get all of the stuff involving the other animals done and get a water changing routine for the aquarium down pat, plus possibly start selling shrimp babies, Taylor and I have (somewhat seriously) discussed getting an axolotl.
Knowing me, though, this sudden period of extreme productivity only last a day or two, and then I'll lapse into another six months of general apathy and get none of the above actually done. We'll see. :)
