Just when I thought Gabriel was finally out of the labyrinth of illnesses that's plagued him for the past month, this evening he felt warm. When I took his temp, sure enough, he had a fever. Once Gabriel woke up from his last nap yesterday I put him in his stroller and took him to B&N so I could breathe and calm down and cool off. As we strolled the aisles my phone rang. It was Carlos. This was Gabriel last night, clearly sick and miserable. Notice the red-rimmed, puffy eyes, the pale color, the look on his face that says, "No human in the history of mankind has suffered the way I now suffer."

One of the biggest differences in consumer philosophy between me and Carlos:

We're out of milk. We usually eat cereal in the mornings.

Mer's solution: Buy a box of Entenmann's donuts for breakfast until we get some groceries.
Carlos's solution: Buy milk.

Carlos came up with a new system for Gabriel's new sleep schedule. Since Carlos gets up early for work anyway because he likes to have some quiet time to himself before work, he decided that during the week he'll get up at 6 with Gabriel.
