We should know who our coach is for football by Friday! Apparently, there are three people interested in the job, so the club need to speak to all of them again before making a decision, which they have promised me will happen Friday.
My boys (under 15s) have been training hard with the under 14s anyway. The under 14s coach is really impressed with them *g* I’m just relieved that they’re all behaving themselves! It’s been nice to take a couple of hours out on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and just socialize with the rest of the mums who stay at training (when I’m not running around the club chasing equipment and taking registrations).
I got our football bag back last Friday. I phoned the ex coach and left yet another message, then he called me back. After listening to him rant about what happened I told him that he shouldn’t have left the meeting without offering an explanation, because it just makes him look bad, not to mention guilty (which I know he is and he’s still denying). Anyway, he told me I could pick up the bag from his house that afternoon. We moved on, and I told him that the club manager had been trying to get hold of him, just to chat - he is a life member, so she was concerned - and he said to tell her to call him. He also told me to wish all the players the best for the season. I thought we had ended the call on good terms.
After that I went to the club to sort some equipment out before the scheduled meetings that night. While I was there the Junior Director got a call from the Club Manager - she’d passed our ex coach in the shopping centre, exchanged the usual pleasantries and moved on (she thought everything was fine between them). About five minutes after she walked away her cell rang - it was him - and he proceeded to abuse her, telling her that the equipment will be on the kerb at 1:30pm, and he’s no longer responsible for it and he doesn’t want anyone associated with the club at his house O.o Luckily, hubby wasn’t working, because he offered to go pick it up, rather than having me go around there. The equipment wasn’t on the kerb, but under the carport, so he’s full of it. I’m beginning to become concerned about his mental state, because that is not rational behavior. I know we haven’t heard the last of him yet, but hopefully it will be over soon, because he’s just embarrassing himself now.
The meetings went well. We got most of the equipment out of the club and to the respective teams *yay* Much of what was missing has been found *double yay* There’s quite a bit we have to replace, but that’s actually not my department, so I’ve passed the list on :)
Maddy chose volleyball as her summer sport at school and managed to make the A grade school team *beams proudly* She has an all day carnival next week, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to go watch her (I’ll have my nephews, so I’m hoping hubby won’t be working that day *crosses fingers*).
They arrive on Friday! I’m excited and terrified at the same time. While I’m looking forward to spending so much quality time with the boys, I’m not looking forward to the restrictions it will place on our family. We’re well out of that baby stage and getting back into it might be a challenge - the youngest goes to bed at 7pm, which is great, but I’m only just getting home from football at that time some nights. Still, we’ll manage or we’ll scar them for life ;P
Hubby hasn’t been working *grumbles* He is working tomorrow, but we’re not sure about Friday. Next week, when I want him to be here to help with the boys, he’ll be working 14 hours a day!
I also have a very deep scratch in my passenger door thanks to some dirty miscreant. I was taking Maddy to school this morning and I saw a stubby (375ml glass beer bottle) in the gutter, so I moved out a little to make sure I’d miss it, but the wind must have moved it just at the right time and my tire caught the very lip of the bottle, sending it into the air and my door. It has successfully removed the paint right down to the bare metal for about two inches *grr* If I hadn’t moved out I probably would have simply run it over *sigh* So, I’m going to have to get my car to the panel beaters to get it touched up quickly, because living where we do (near the ocean) our air is very salty and things like this rust in no time.
