While
ealdthryth is on walkabout for the next couple of days, I am taking advantage of her absence to repaint the bedroom and put up a wallpaper border. We've been planning to do this for ages, and with the copious amounts of vacation I have this year, I decided to take the task in hand and get it done.
Whenever we do one of these projects, we are super-wary of the proximity of the feline members of the household. They've been pretty good. Josie does not like to walk on the plastic dropcloth, so she has been staying away, and Ignatius simply shifts position on the bed to watch as I work. I had to multi-task while painting today though. I got conferenced in on a meeting at the office, so I had to paint really slowly so as to not make a lot of background noise.
Of course that is when AElfgifu decided to monitor my progress. I dreaded her sidling up to the wall and getting the paint on herself (and her fur on the wall), so I kept a watch out for this.
Of course AElfgifu did exactly what I was afraid of, and started veering towards an area of freshly painted wall. I reached for her...she turned...and backed straight into the wall.
Sigh Now AElfgifu has a new temporary color to her tortoiseshell markings: powder blue.
Luckily, she didn't get much on her, and I couldn't see any fur stuck to the paint. She tolerated me wiping off some of the paint, but then got agitated and ran away. At least she ran to the bathroom where I could get water and a towel. Poor AElfgifu! She sulked for a little while.
