I'm Way Too Domesticated
For a holiday party, we were instructed to provide a side dish for X people. Considering this is for the grumpy old rivet counters' party, I think I may be the only married man who will actually cook something, and I'm sure at least one of the widowers will buy his contribution.
ealdthryth and I thought about cooking a bowl full of peas, but that's just lame. So, I'm going to make a little extra effort and try to make a casserole. Alert the media.
Seriously, though, I could NOT find a recipe in Joy of Cooking , which is a bad sign. I looked online and there were some pretty horrible things that involved condensed "cream of" soups and few that involved Cheez Whiz (two of them were in the top five search elements returned). Is that even real food? I did eventually find a reasonably healthy recipe that used rice instead of breadcrumbs or crackers, and did not include cheese substitute nor condensed soup.
Now that I think about it, macaroni & cheese might be a better option.

Every evening this week, I have arrived home in the evening to discover AElfgifu and Ignatius sharing the new tower. AElf' definitely claims the top tier, and with moderate ungraciousness, allows Ignatius to occupy the middle tier--as long as he doesn't move and doesn't look at her.
