Logistics

Timing is everything. I think we've got a plan for the where of the outgoing items, but only half a plan for the how. We figure the easiest and safest approach is to give the television to Goodwill since we wouldn't be able to sell it for any more than we'd get in tax deductions. We'll take it one evening next week.

The entertainment center is tougher. It can go the same route as the bedroom furniture, but I have to take the pictures, negotiate, then we have to load it onto the pickup and get it to the consignment shop. I really detest the idea of paying someone $200 to move the thing for us, and selling it via one of the online forums makes us nervous for some reason. However, that is one heavy piece of furniture. I don't think ealdthryth is going to be able to help me move it except to the front door. And timing *is* everything on this one. The store only accepts deliveries at certain hours--which are uniformly inconvenient for me. I'll have to take a day off and have ealdthryth coordinate one of her off weekdays to match. But that is assuming the store accepts the consignment at all....

Mostly Better

I woke up with the type of sore throat I remember from the time I had strep, but the feeling faded VERY quickly. As far as I am concerned, that means no mulching this weekend. Which, given the cooler weather, is a little bit of a disappointment. I was about to say the slime had gone into remission, but I just sneezed and debunked that theory. sigh

I must not really be feeling better because I did absolutely nothing of worth last night beyond making dinner and putting away the dishes. ealdthryth fussed at me about that a bit.

Yikes!

The in-law's motor home they use for their racing team caught fire yesterday. No one was hurt, but if someone hadn't seen it and reported it to the fire department, they could have easily lost the racing rig and their business, too. Lucky escape!

New Rug Fu

ealdthryth acquired some new rugs for the front hall. The runner in front of the cats' bathroom is falling apart--badly, and the style isn't made any more. Which means the whole set had to be replaced. Unfortunately, the one rug that didn't get replaced is the one that is damaged. sigh We can use the old rugs in other places (once we have new flooring). The cats haven't fully approved of the new rugs, but at least one of them has already been "picked" at.

No! No! Bad kitty!.....Awwww! Aren't you cute!

But Everyone Else Was Doing It!

We had a department-wide meeting yesterday. Usually, there is a lot of boring blah, blah, blah targeted at managers rather than general staff. It have to admit that this one was pretty engaging--even if the business team that presented did a quite "hammy" skit for us to show how well their project was going.

At the break, they tortured me. The snack that was provided was cheesecake. And for some reason, the slices were not thin.

ARGH!
