The recital I played in on Saturday was so much fun and I got paid! The flute player was amazing and included a lot of fun non-flutey type music, like this "flute beatboxing" tune from the group Project that she played with a cello and bass player. Their recital hall has really fantastic accoustics, and I may have gotten a few more gigs out of this ( Read more... )

One week from tomorrow I'll be playing in the capitol... which is cool but slightly freaky.  Also, next week's masterclass is "jacki day" - I'm playing all of my current music for the studio, so that's kind of intense.

I'm going to be playing in the capitol in October. A couple is getting married on the 2nd floor, and they wanted a harp. yay! So the gig at the senior center went well yesterday - there were quite a few people there who came up afterwards telling me of how it brought them back to some memory, one lady took a few lessons at the UW with the harp professor (the one before Karen and Chelsea) and one had lived next to a concert harpist when she was a little girl ("It brings me ( Read more... )

A job opportunity has opened up, (a smaller orchestra wants a harpist from the university to come and play a concert with them of mostly Debussy stuff - they have no harpist of their own) and it looks like I won't be able to do it because of wardbrodt.
