Who: Alayne, open!
Where: The Courtyard
When: Morning of the 22nd, before classes.
What: Meandering around in the snow and being introspective. Come and disrupt that :D
Rating: PG at the most?
Warnings: Potential spoilers for ASoS and AFfC of the ASoIaF series I swear I'm not just keysmashing. Aside from that, none. I expect.

[Truth be told, the uniform they're in isn't enough against the cold. The cloak is thick and warm, certainly, but it's a flimsy armour. Alayne wishes for furs and velvets and her sturdy boots, but she makes do with what she has, a stark figure amidst the snow in black and Ravenclaw blue. She keeps to the paths that have been shovelled or stamped down throughout the courtyard, trying to keep robes and cloak and socks from ending up soaked through, and she does so without complaint, as if the cold - the fierce and biting cold - is not bothering her.

It isn't, not really. There's a lethargy in her limbs and a gnawing sense of something like despair in the back of her mind, but she isn't attributing that to the weather. If anything, the cold clears her head - Hogwarts is grey stone and white snow, Stark colours.

Her colours.

But that's what has her out here, anyway, when she could be inside in the Great Hall, where it's at least somewhat warmer. There are generally friendly faces there, as well, but it's the friendly faces specifically that have her walking the grounds, face curtained by dark brown hair.

She cannot risk Robb seeing her. The castle is big, and there are plenty of people in it - she can avoid him, she knows. (But part of, the part of her that is his sister and will never be taken over by Stone, longs to do the opposite.) More than once now she's seen his wolf in the corridors, and had to take a sudden and unexpected detour to bypass the King in the North. And then there's mealtimes - and she has seen him, across the hall, looking fair even in Lannister red and gold. Having Sansa Stark's lord husband sitting at the high table had been hard in itself - having Sansa Stark's brother a few tables away should have been easy. Alayne eats and leaves quickly - as she did this morning, taking little to break her fast with before escaping into the snow.

Her brother. He should not be here, he shouldn't be anywhere, and seeing him is a blessing and a curse, a dream coming true and a nightmare unfolding before her. I should be glad to see him again, Sansa Stark thinks, and Alayne Stone shuts her eyes for a moment and wills that girl away.

I am Alayne Stone, now. And nothing can change that. She can not allow it to.

Classes aren't due to start for a while yet, her commuter tells her. Idly, her foot kicks up some snow. The cold is setting into her fingers and toes uncomfortably, but she can't quite bring herself to mind. The winter will be a long and fell one - and she can't quite bring herself to mind about that, either. A stone was a mountain's daughter, she'd been told once, but a Stark belongs to winter.]
